Rancho Bernardo is an established suburban community in northern San Diego County with a large retiree and near-retirement population. Many Rancho Bernardo residents in that demographic have discovered an important gap: Medicare Part A and Part B do not cover routine dental care. That means exams, cleanings, fillings, crowns, and extractions come out of pocket unless a patient carries a separate dental plan. Patients from Rancho Bernardo drive the 35 minutes south to our office on University Ave specifically because we do not mark up services for a senior demographic — our fees are the same for everyone, and we will tell you the out-of-pocket before we start. We are also building a membership plan for uninsured patients (waitlist open) that will offer predictable annual pricing for preventive care. We see full families here too — adult children who moved their parents into Rancho Bernardo and want the same practice for everyone.

From Rancho Bernardo Rd & Bernardo Center Dr, head south on I-15 to I-8 east, exiting at 54th Street or Fairmount Ave. Head north to University Ave and turn west. Alternatively, stay on I-15 south to SR-163 south and connect to surface streets toward University Ave. Our office is on the south side of University Ave between 52nd and 54th Streets, next to Vien Dong Supermarket. Expect about 30-40 minutes depending on I-15 traffic.
The Sprinter rail line connects Escondido to Oceanside with bus transfers south; for most Rancho Bernardo patients, driving I-15 south is the most direct option.
Our office at 5296 University Ave (Suite I) has free street parking along University Ave and 53rd Street, plus the shared lot for Vien Dong Supermarket next door. Wheelchair-accessible entry and ground-floor treatment rooms.
